Teal & Mackrill Ltd Win Coatings Care Progress Award 2009
Teal & Mackrill Ltd, manufacturer of specialised paints and varnishes since 1908 has been awarded the Progress Award Trophy, designed by the Fire and Iron Gallery in Leatherhead, for their continued improvements under the British Coatings Federation's accreditation. It is a new award from Tony Mash, CEO of the BCF which recognizes improvements in management systems, and a significant impetus to improve.
The Progress Award, which is presented to Teal & Mackrill in November is due to the following successes:
- Active programs in waste management. Namely, success stories in solvent recovery.
- Commitment to safety and the environment.
- Product stewardship and management systems (ISO9001).
- Customer service is a major factor, with few complaints received and remedial response and recall
- TEAMACtion, Teal & Mackrill's initiative for employees, was commended for its demonstration of monitoring their own improvements and implementing them.
Teal & Mackrill were awarded ISO9001 certificate in 2008 and this, along with their continued customer service, are just two reasons for which they were in the top three finalists for the overall Coatings Care Award for 2009.
Geoff Mackrill, managing director of Teal & Mackrill, said:
"This award is a welcome testament to the hard work that goes in behind
the scenes at Teal & Mackrill, from the emphasis we place on encouraging
staff development to our after-sales care and our environmentally friendly manufacturing
processes.
"All our staff work hard to make sure the company continues to improve and
develop, and I'm sure that will remain the case in the future."
The Coatings Care awards gave Teal & Mackrill a welcome chance to demonstrate that they are striving for continual improvement in every aspect of the business. Having been in business for over 100 years, (established in 1908) the Coo-Var and Teamac brands grow stronger in clarifying the range of products available and supporting the stockists through supplying marketing materials.
